Registered Charity

CheckIn Works is a charity registered in Scotland (no. SC041642) and a company limited by guarantee (no. SC380888).

Volunteer Employment Buddies

CheckIn Works recruits volunteer Buddies across Perth & Kinross to support disadvantaged adults gaining access to meaningful employment and job training opportunities.

Achieving a positive experience of work can be especially difficult for local people with mental ill-health, disabilities and other barriers to gaining paid employment. Buddies provide the vital support and encouragement to individuals who are starting work.

Giraffe Trading CIC

CheckIn Works created Giraffe Trading CIC as a social enterprise to provide employment opportunities and training for disadvantaged adults.

Events

Gala Day

CheckIn and Giraffe are jointly holding their Gala Day at South Inch, Perth on Saturday September 18.

Attractions will include a visit from Tayside Fire Brigade, bouncy obstacle course, races, BBQ and competitions. Cream teas will also be on sale whilst ice creams, sweets and soft drinks will be available from our Cafe On The Green outlet.

Following the success of our plant sale held earlier this year our teams at Westbank polytunnel have been busy stocking up a plentiful supply of plants and hanging baskets in preparation for the event.

Volunteers are needed to help make the day a success. If you are free on the day between 11am and 4pm James Alexander would love to hear from you.

Our 5th Buddy Training Course

... will start on Tuesday 21st September, 2010 at our temporary headquarters located at the OK Base at Murray Royal Hospital and will run during evenings from 6.30pm to 8.45pm.

This course which will be hosted by CheckIn's James Alexander will last for 10 weeks. Interested? Then contact James on Perth (01738) 4490227. Your help is important to us.
