CheckIn Works operates across Perth & Kinross. Its aim is to improve accessibility to job opportunities for adults experiencing a diverse range of disabilities, mental ill-health, homelessness and other barriers to sustaining meaningful employment.
CheckIn Works was formally recognised in August 2008 as the organisation that emerged from the Perth & Kinross Consortium, and was originally known as The CheckIn Group. It was registered as a charity in July 2010.
CheckIn Works acts enthusiastically in partnership with a wide range of local voluntary sector organisations, Perth & Kinross Council, NHS Tayside and other local employability agencies. Together, we strive to provide local people with a range of innovative resources to support the challenging transition into mainstream or supported work opportunities.
A core aim of our work is to support local employers at all stages of the employment process in order to identify and develop sustainable job opportunities. The establishment of the successful volunteer Buddy scheme, offering one-to-one and group support, is a key example of the creative support CheckIn offers.
CheckIn Works has also established a thriving social enterprise (Giraffe Trading CIC) which widened the scope locally for offering employment support for unemployed people who are keen to work and learn valuable job skills.
CheckIn Works is a charity registered in Scotland (no. SC041642) and a company limited by guarantee (no. SC380888).
